And to the bloke who keeps whinging on about toast? You can use an oven for that. Now can you please put your priorities in order and quit yammering on about it?

I know that not everyone really knows how to cook, and that I'd more or less be out of a job if they did. But is it really too much to ask people understand what the different degrees of doneness are for steak? We even have these handy charts in case you don't know. I had a man last night who asked for medium-well. He sent it back several times and I had to keep recooking his steak until it was actually blackened. I don't know what definition he was using, but I've never known anyone who thinks that's medium-well. If you know what you want, I promise you'll actually get it that way.

I figured I may have left a few people out of my Valentine owls, but I honestly don't know how many people should have gotten a package or who all of you are. I really hope this ward works. I'm not sure if telling the owls to find every version of certain people would have worked or not, but less of the packages came back than I thought would.

If you can see this? I made macarons for at least five, if not six, versions of everyone I know of that I'm related to. If you got your package, oi! Don't be greedy! If you didn't get one, you're reading this because we're related in some way or another. Happy belated Valentines, and come grab some sweets. I may have gone overboard with them, so take as many as you like. I overestimated how many I needed. I also just like not having to worry about how much I'm allowed to use.

Hello? I'm not really sure exactly what's going on, but I'd appreciate it if someone can explain it to me? The woman with the clipboard was completely unhelpful, and with everything that's going on in the world? I'm more than a little bit worried what this all means. We haven't been captured, have we? I tried asking the people in the portrait in my new room, but they just ignored me and kept talking to each other. Before the painting changed, which I don't think has ever actually happened to me before. ...I've also never had a painting try to sell me cheese.

Does anyone know what's going on? I just want to contact my brother and his family to make sure they're alright, at least. Or is this book just going to ignore me, too, and then try to sell me potions?

I've also been assigned a job. I'm going to be working as a cook, which so far is the only thing about this place that makes any sense. Except for the menu. Aren't we still under a ration?
